Song of the month - September 2023

Third song of 4th album

I sought him but did not find him

This is a new and original melody for the song of songs the biblical scroll (3, 1,2 + 2, 11).
The original biblical text was written in Hebrew, so why to sing it in Arabic?

Talya G.A Solan: The Story behind
Aviv Bahar got to my place one morning in 2020. We had a corona mission, to work on new music for the 4th album.
I prepared some options and song ideas to work on.  Aviv drinks his coffee.. takes the guitar and plays a mesmerizing melody.  – I just woke up with this phrase” he says… well, it’s really so beautiful and moving melody, reminds me the music from Almodovar’s film Able Con Ella. Which is one of the perfect soundtracks of all time.
I think that there is no need for lyrics here. it could be a magnificent instrumental tune. – “let’s save this one for our instrumental album” I suggest.  – “I think that vocals fit here very much” he says.

I’m also stubborn. – “Listen Aviv, It’s amazing and it fit me very much. I would be really happy to sing this one, but for you, it’s better to save it and make it instrumental, it’s something very special”.

he insists – “please try to sing for a moment. Arabic would work fantastic here. I can really hear it”

– “Arabic??? Why Arabic now? You know that the artistic direction we have is Jewish & Hebrew music, so how exactly is this related to us??”  – “can you please try for a second, just to feel it for a moment….”

OK. OK… when it comes to Aviv’s request, I have no character, I obey. so I start Improvising Arabic lyrics. it makes  him stick even more to his idea.  – Yes, exactly like that. Wow.. that’s.. beautiful”

In the next day, I listen the rehearsal recording. I must admit I like it. it sounds nice.

The Arabic part is bothering me. which lyrics I’ll sing? In the following meeting I try to get him off the Arabic idea.

– “Look, I listened to the recording, Arabic is beautiful, but there is no connection with our music, you know our whole concept is Hebrew and Jewish music, right?”

(It seems to me that in a few seconds he’s going to give up on me, so I’m trying to leave an open door)
“If it’s Arabic, then something Jewish, which has something to do with what we do. Let’s say Psalms, Song of Songs or other biblical text”

– “OK. No problem. Do you have anything from the Song of Songs?”

“No. I have no idea. but let’s search”

We sit down to read the Song of Songs in Arabic. (Thanks God I can read and write Arabic!)

After a deep search We made surprising progress with the song that was given a temporary name: “The Arabic Almodovar”

Almost three years have passed, the song has been processed, and recorded, harmonies, edited, mixed, mastered, filmed with sensitive touch and lenses of Boaz Rabinovitch. finally it is here.
This very touching and perfect song that at first I didn’t want to sing.
THANK YOU AVIV. LOVE YOU.

Song of the month - August 2023

Opening song of 4th album

There a garden blossoms

This song is about the beauty we have inside of us. the beauty that we are not aware of. the great power and the seeds of prosperity and growth that exist in our subconscious.
The blooming garden is the garden of the mind. actually this opening song from fourth album came through a dream.

Sigmund Freud emphasized in his theories that the unconscious is the place of the silenced urges, the dark passions, the hungry ego and everything that can wreak havoc on us if only it spills out into the world and is exposed.
Interesting is that his spiritual father, the French Jean Charcot, claimed that: “𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙨 𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙥𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙘𝙞𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨”.

They were of course talking about the same place, the unconscious area in the depths of the human mind. Freud delved into the inhibitions, the fears, the restraints that lead us away. Charcot focused on the hidden beauty, the infinite wonders, the mental treasure.

There in the shadow area the seeds of good potential and the seeds of bad potential bubble up. What seeds do I water? What seeds will I be able to germinate? Deep there inside of us there is a potential for that blooming garden.
The fertile seeds of artistic creation are waiting there, the brilliant ideas of innovative inventions are also hidden there, thinking outside the box and all those levers that lift us higher, make us thrive, sparkle and shine, all of these are there.

"𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙨 𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙥𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙘𝙞𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨".
